Madison, WI – The recent incident at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where Professor José Felipe Alvergue flipped over a table belonging to the College Republicans, is utterly unacceptable and warrants immediate action.
Representative Dave Maxey, Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections, released the following statement:
“This act of aggression is yet another clear example of the deranged left losing their minds when confronted with differing views. Universities should champion free speech, not coddle faculty who lash out at students for their political beliefs.
I call on the campus administration to launch a full and transparent investigation into this disturbing event. Such behavior cannot be tolerated if our academic institutions are to uphold their core principles. Political violence of any kind is never the answer.”
