Franklin, WI –Forward Latino, a national non-profit, non-partisan service and advocacy
organization headquartered in Franklin, Wisconsin and with affiliates and members in 29 states
and its 80% Coalition made up of 38 advocacy, business, faith-based, health and mental health
service provider organizations today announces Kimberly Mata-Rubio, a survivor of the Rob
Elementary School mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas will address attendees at its 2024 Emergency
Gun Violence Summit on October 10, 2024 at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As of
September 1, 2024, there have been seven school shootings killing or wounding 22 people.
Presenting Sponsors of the summit are the Milwaukee Office of Community Wellness and
Safety and Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort Educational Fund (WAVE).
During the Summit local, regional and national survivors, advocates, gun violence prevention
policy experts, gun owners and elected officials will share information on how collectively we
can work to reduce gun violence in our homes, in our neighborhoods, in our places of work and
worship and in our schools. The resource fair and sessions are all available at no charge to the
public.
