Adrianne Melby called Speaker of the Assembly Robin Vos to account today for his continued refusal to comply with Open Records Requests (ORR) concerning an overseas trip to Ireland where twenty legislators will accompany him.
Melby emailed an ORR to Speaker Robin Vos’ office on July 30th, 2023. It remains unanswered.
Speaker Vos has a consistent history of ignoring and/or denying ORR’s. Vos’ continued refusal to comply with the laws set forth in Wisconsin statute 19.32 – 19.39 has brought sanctions against him in the past. Most recently, American Oversight v. Robin Vos, case #21-CV-2521.
Speaker Vos’ lack of transparency, his arrogance in selecting the laws he chooses to obey and his consistent disregard for the laws of Wisconsin must stop.
Legal action to force compliance to one of Wisconsin’s most used tools for legislative accountability is under consideration.
