MILWAUKEE — County Supervisors Peter Burgelis, Felesia A. Martin, Shawn Rolland, Juan Miguel Martinez, and Caroline Gómez-Tom jointly announced today a series of town hall meetings on the potential implementation of an additional 0.4% sales tax in Milwaukee County.

Recognizing the importance of engaging with constituents, the supervisors emphasized a need for open dialogue and community input:

“The State of Wisconsin has allowed Milwaukee County to implement an additional 0.4% sales tax to address rising pension and public safety costs,” said Supervisor Burgelis. “My constituents have expressed concerns about the upcoming sales tax proposal that the County Board will consider later this month. I want to ensure that residents have an opportunity to share their thoughts and get their questions answered.”

Supervisor Martin added, “I hope that all residents will attend one of the town halls to express their concerns. Our constituents’ voices are of the utmost importance for our deliberations.”

The town hall meetings will serve as inclusive forums where residents can engage in meaningful discussions and provide valuable feedback.
