State Representative Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City) issued the following statement after the Wisconsin State Assembly voted 63-34 to pass the $98.6 billion 2023-25 Wisconsin State Budget:
“The budget passed today will invest significantly in our kids, rural roads, shared revenue, workforce development, and seniors, while respecting the hard-working taxpayers of our state. This is a good budget for Southwest Wisconsin and by investing in our shared priorities we will be set up for long term economic success and prosperity.”
The state budget makes targeted investments in the priorities all Wisconsinites share and uses a record budget surplus to return over $4.4 billion to the hardworking taxpayers of our state. We made some important strides in accomplishing those goals and the budget bill now moves on to the governor’s desk.
