Lake Nebagamon, WI. – State Representative Angie Sapik (R-Lake Nebagamon) released the following statement:
“On Saturday April 8, 2023, two Northwestern Wisconsin police officers were killed in the line of duty. Emily Breidenbach of the Chetek Police Department and Hunter Scheel of the Cameron Police Department lost their lives during a routine traffic stop.
These officers, and all officers, put their lives at risk every day, not knowing when something as simple as a routine traffic stop can go awry in a single moment. These police officers are heroes. More details will come out of the DOJ as this investigation unfurls, but for now, we grieve with the family and friends of these officers.
