Madison…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) would like to announce that the 19th Annual State of the Tribes address is scheduled for Tuesday, March 14 at 1 p.m. in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
“I would like to thank Chairman Robert Van Zile of the Sokaogon Chippewa Community and the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council, Inc. for delivering this year’s address. It’s important to keep the lines of communication open between our governments. This annual event gives us an opportunity to learn more about the issues facing Wisconsin tribes.”
The State of the Tribes address began in 2005. Each year the council selects a member to give the address. Constitutional officers, members of the state Supreme Court and Senate are invited to attend. The speech is open to the public and will be live-streamed on WisconsinEye.
