NEW YORK, NY– Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Chairman of the House Select Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, today hosted a bipartisan rally, alongside fellow Select Committee members and human rights activists, against transnational repression at the illegal Chinese Communist Party “police station” in New York City. At the event, Chairman Gallagher highlighted the CCP’s use of these “police stations” around the world to harass, stalk, surveil, and blackmail people who go against the Party.

“If a victim is brave enough to come forward, no repressive act orchestrated by a foreign government should ever fall on deaf ears. That’s a basic promise we make to everyone in the United States, no matter what their background. Together, we will end transnational repression, we will end this ugly affront to our sovereignty, and we will make sure that the United States is a haven from prosecution, not a hunting ground for authoritarians,” said Rep. Gallagher.

The event featured remarks from Chairman Gallagher, Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), Rep. Neal Dunn (R-FL), and prominent human rights and democracy activist, Zhou Fengsuo. Victims of the Chinese Communist Party’s transnational repression were in attendance, including Uyghur, Tibetan, and Han Chinese dissidents and activists.
