MADISON, Wis. — The Democrat Party Leader, Hakeem Jeffries confirmed that a vote for Susan Crawford is a vote for a dangerously liberal agenda to rip up Congressional maps and remove Congressman Steil and Van Orden’s House Seats, blatantly ignoring the will of Wisconsin voters.

REMINDER: The current Congressional maps were drawn by Wisconsin’s far-left Governor, Tony Evers.

In a live forum with Jeffries and the far-left DNC Chair, who defeated Ben Wikler, Ken Martin, Jeffries “advocated for Wisconsin voters to elect liberal Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford, believing she would redraw congressional districts more favorably for Democrats,” per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

This comes after the New York Times exposed Susan Crawford for attending an event billed as the opportunity for “new congressional maps that will help Democrats flip two Republican-held House seats.”

While Crawford tries to gaslight voters, the leader of her Party just said the quiet part out loud. Not too shocking, considering nearly 4/5 of her contributions in her new report came from out-of-state donors, meaning far-left Democrats who can’t vote in Wisconsin elections.

“The leader of the unpopular Democrat Party, Hakeem Jeffries, just confirmed for Wisconsin voters that Susan Crawford would gerrymander maps to favor Democrats. A vote for Crawford is a vote to disenfranchise thousands of Wisconsin voters who elected Congressman Steil and Van Orden. Wisconsin voters will head to the ballot box to elect Brad Schimel to save Wisconsin and our values,” said WisGOP Executive Director Andrew Iverson

Key Points

  • Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic U.S. House Minority Leader, advocated for Wisconsin voters to elect liberal Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford, believing she would redraw congressional districts more favorably for Democrats.
  • Jeffries’ comments support Republican claims that Crawford aims to alter Wisconsin’s congressional maps to benefit Democrats, a charge Crawford denies.
  • The Wisconsin GOP filed a complaint against Crawford, accusing her of indicating her stance on issues before the court, specifically regarding congressional maps.

Democratic U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries told supporters on Monday that it was important for Wisconsin voters to elect liberal state Supreme Court candidate Susan Crawford so she and other justices can redraw congressional districts in a way that is more favorable to the party.

His comments will bolster Republicans’ claim that Crawford has been courting donors with the promise of changing Wisconsin’s congressional maps so they don’t lean Republican. Crawford has denied the charge.

Labeling Crawford a “strong Democratic candidate,” Jeffries said the future of the state’s congressional maps hang on the outcome of the April 1 election. While the race is legally nonpartisan, Democrats have lined up behind Crawford and Republicans behind conservative candidate Brad Schimel.

The winner of the high-stakes race will determine the ideological direction of the court. If Crawford wins, liberals will retain their one-seat majority. A Schimel victory would give conservatives the control they lost in 2023.

“Why is that important?” Jeffries said in a live discussion on the social media platform X. “Because there are gerrymandered congressional lines right now in Wisconsin. Wisconsin is a 50-50 state, as I mentioned, but there are six Republicans and only two Democrats out of an eight-person (congressional) delegation because the lines are broken.”

He added: “As soon as possible, we need to be able to revisit that and have fair lines. The only way for that to be even a significant possibility is if you have an enlightened Supreme Court.”

In the talk, dubbed a “national update and call to action” with newly elected Democratic Party chairman Ken Martin, Jeffries emphasized repeatedly that the Democrats needed only three House seats to block Republican President Donald Trump’s agenda.

Earlier this year, Crawford participated in a Zoom call in which the email invite was headlined “Chance to put two more House seats in play for 2026.”

The email was an apparent reference to Wisconsin’s 1st and 3rd Congressional Districts, which are held by Republican Reps. Bryan Steil and Derrick Van Orden, respectively, and are the state’s only competitive House seats.

The January call with state Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wikler was organized by aides to billionaire Democratic donor Reid Hoffman, who has given more than $14.5 million to the state Democratic Party.
