Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Stephanie Bloomingdale released the following statement in response to tonight’s forum between Dr. Jill Underly and education consultant Brittany Kinser:
“The Wisconsin AFL-CIO is proud to endorse Dr. Jill Underly for Superintendent of Public Instruction in Wisconsin. Her opponent, Brittany Kinser is supported by the same wealthy donors who are pushing Elon Musk and President Trump’s plan to eviscerate the Department of Education, defund public schools, and erode our public services. This is not the recipe for strong schools in Wisconsin.
Throughout tonight’s forum, Dr. Jill Underly’s responses let us know that she will fight for strong neighborhood schools, fully-funded classrooms, and safe working conditions for teachers. Dr. Underly is a champion for public education in Wisconsin and has worked successfully to expand Career & Technical Education programs and partnerships across our state in order to expand opportunities for all children. She will fight for a strong and bright future with good schools for all.
