The state GOP topped its Dem counterpart for fundraising during the most recent reporting period after regularly trailing in the money race over the last five years.

The Republican Party reported $7.1 million raised during the period, $7.3 million spent and $950,825 in the bank.

Along with the donations from Hendricks, Liz Uihlein and Musk, the party also received $1.65 million from Dick Uihlein, Liz’s husband and an Illinois  businessman.

The state Dem Party reported just under $6 million raised during the pre-election period, $7.9 million spent and $442,354 in the bank to close the period.

Along with the donations from Pritzker, who earlier this year gave the party $500,000, and Soros, who previously contributed $1 million, WisDems reported a pair of $500,000 contributions from Lynn Schusterman and Stacy Schusterman. Stacy Schusterman is the chief executive officer of Samson Energy and the chair of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation. She’s also the daughter of former oil executive Charles Schusterman and his wife Lynn Schusterman.

The state GOP has also continued to pull in more money than the Dem Party since the pre-election period closed. The Republican Party has reported $2.5 million in late contributions, including $2 million from Musk.

The state Dem Party has reported $400,675 in donations since the close of the pre-election period.
