MADISON – Senator Eric Wimberger (R-Oconto), a member of the Legislature’s budget committee, announced today that the Committee’s public hearings for the 2025-26 State Budget will include a stop in Northeast Wisconsin, visiting Kaukauna High School on Wednesday, April 2.
“As a member of the Legislature’s budget committee, I’m proud to bring the Committee to Kaukauna and give voice to people across Northeast Wisconsin as we draft the State Budget,” Senator Wimberger stated. “Public input is critical to the budget-writing process, and the feedback we receive assists us as we write a budget that delivers for Wisconsin’s hardworking families.”
The Joint Finance Committee holds listening sessions across Wisconsin for public input for each budget. Additional hearings will be held in West Allis on April 4, Hayward on April 28, and Wausau on April 29. Each session will begin at 10 AM and conclude at 5 PM. Testimony can also be submitted online here.
The Governor submitted his budget proposal to the Legislature on February 18. From there, the budget-writing committee holds hearings with state agency leaders and listening sessions with the general public to determine what will be included in the final budget bill. After that bill is passed by the Legislature, it goes to the Governor’s desk to be signed into law.
