KAUKAUNA — Prior to attending a public hearing at Kaukauna High School, the Democratic members of the Joint Committee on Finance joined members of the Carpenters Union to discuss the ways the state budget should invest in the people doing the work to make our communities great.

The four Democratic members of the Joint Committee on Finance issued the following statement:

“Last night made it clear, Wisconsinites want the government to work for them, not the right-wing billionaires. One week after Wisconsin Republicans rejected the Governor’s building commission proposal, we stood with Wisconsinites who know how to get things done. That means working together.

“We will continue to put in the effort to advocate for a budget that represents the priorities of the majority of Wisconsinites. We hope Wisconsin Republicans will start to recognize the peril their state-level brand is in.”
