MADISON, WI – Today, Representative Ben DeSmidt proudly hosted the Wisconsin Diaper Bank Network at the State Capitol to advocate for a critical investment announced in Governor Evers’ 2025-2027 Executive Budget: $1 million in grant funding (500k/year) for diaper banks across Wisconsin.
Representative Ben DeSmidt (D-Kenosha) shared the following statement:
“It was an honor to host the Wisconsin Diaper Bank Network at the Capitol and to stand beside passionate advocates working on behalf of our youngest Wisconsinites. It was great to have Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez join us to share a few words about the importance of this grant funding.
“I urge my Republican colleagues on the Joint Finance Committee to support this grant funding so Wisconsin families do not have to choose between paying for food or keeping their baby clean and healthy. Supporting diaper banks is a commonsense investment in child development and certainly should not be a partisan issue.
“I want to thank all the advocates who came to the Capitol today to make their voices heard and remind us that meeting basic needs like diaper access is essential to the health and dignity of every Wisconsin family.”
