MADISON — On Tuesday Wisconsin voters on Main Streets—from Bayfield to Brookfield—made it clear that their votes and their state were not for sale.

Elon Musk spent $25 million trying to sway Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race—and failed. Voters rejected his attempt to buy the election with oversized checks, pay-to-play tactics, and misinformation spreading on X.

His spending helped make this the most expensive state Supreme Court race in U.S. history, accounting for over a quarter of the $90 million total. Main Street advocates successfully framed the effort as a blatant power grab, and voters responded decisively.

The results have reverberated across the US, with Justice-elect Crawford defeating  Judge Brad Schimel with a 10-point margin. It was a resounding, broad-based victory that stemmed from Judge Susan Crawford’s pro-Main Street and anti-Elon Musk organizing during the campaign. Main Street Action PAC, with over 2,000+ members in Wisconsin, endorsed Justice-elect Susan Crawford for the State Supreme Court.

Last year, Main Streets across Wisconsin celebrated as the State Supreme Court struck down gerrymandered maps that had silenced voters for over a decade. In 2024, with 14 legislative seats flipping, Wisconsinites finally experienced a fairer democracy. Main Street Action PAC was committed to keeping it that way for working people—successfully mobilizing Main Street voters to make their voices heard in this contest.

Judge Susan Crawford is a battle-tested prosecutor, a defender of constitutional rights, and a champion for fair courts. She brings decades of legal experience, a strong track record in public safety, and a commitment to upholding the law—not corporate interests. She will be a great Supreme Court Justice who will interpret the law based on the Constitution and not political allegiances.

Looking ahead to 2026, Main Street Action PAC will engage in Wisconsin’s state legislative elections to ensure that Wisconsin sends representatives to Madison who prioritize Main Street. Main Street demands representatives that will finally pass Medicaid expansion, make childcare affordable, expand capital access for entrepreneurs, and make Wisconsin the best state in the country to start and run a small business. During the budget process, state legislators have an opportunity to make progress on these key issues. Main Street will be watching—and organizing—to make sure they do.
