MADISON, Wisc. — On Wednesday, the Kinser for Our Wisconsin Kids campaign released a new radio ad featuring Dr. Howard Fuller, a well-known education reformer, former Superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools, and distinguished Professor Emeritus of Education at Marquette University.
TRANSCRIPT:
This is Dr. Howard Fuller.
I’m here because I support Brittany Kinser to be the State Superintendent of Wisconsin.
I believe that Brittany will restore high academic standards.
I believe that she will truly work to make parents a partner in the education of their children.
I believe that she will be very transparent with the citizens of this state about what it is that’s happening to our children, but the reason why I’m supporting Brittany, beyond those important things, is because I know that she cares deeply about children.
I know that when she makes a decision as to what DPI should do, that decision will be based on her belief on what is best for children.
We need a state superintendent who supports high standards.
We need a state superintendent who supports transparency.
We need Brittany Kinser to be the state superintendent.
Vote Brittany Kinser for DPI on or before April 1st.
Dr. Fuller, who recently announced his endorsement of Kinser’s campaign said of his support for Brittany: “I know well that Brittany Kinser cares deeply about children. For over a decade, I have respected her work in the Milwaukee community as a school leader and advocate for children and families. As demonstrated by her 25 years working in education as a special education teacher, principal, and non-profit CEO, her focus has always been on the needs and interests of the children. Brittany will bring her passion for learning and her ability to work with educators, students, community members, elected officials, and parents around the state to transform DPI into a place that supports schools and the work that they are doing to educate students. Wisconsin deserves new leadership at DPI. I encourage all who care about the future of our children to join me in voting for Brittany Kinser on or before Tuesday, April 1st.”
The ad will air on Milwaukee radio stations beginning Wednesday.
