The President of El Salvador says it is preposterous for him to return any migrant sent to his prison who has been mistakenly sent there by Trump and his ICE mercenaries.

Let’s be clear what is happening in this country. President Trump is claiming the power to ignore the due process law guaranteed by the U. S. Constitution.

He simply declares someone is a criminal, kidnap them, send them to prison in a third country and then claim there is no way to get that person back!

All the people in the United States are entitled to due process, but Trump and his cops are trying to convince Americans that non-citizens are not.

If Trump can take non-citizens off the streets, render them to prison in another country, and then claim it is helpless to correct the error because the person is out of reach of U.S. jurisdiction, he could do the same thing to citizens.

Once you give up the idea that we are all equal before the law and have the right to due process, you have given up the whole Democracy ball game.

Once you have replaced the principle of equality before the law with the idea that some people have no rights, you have granted your approval to the idea of an authoritarian government.

At that point, all you can do is hope that the dictator and his henchmen overlook you!

We need those we send to represent us in Congress to declare that Trump follow the laws of the United States. Elected officials who do not honor their oath to uphold the Constitution must leave office.

The “Rule of Law” is the bedrock of our Democracy. With out it, we are no longer free people.
