EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, the campaign to elect Rebecca Cooke in Wisconsin’s competitive Third Congressional District announced raising over $1,000,000 in less than three weeks’ time. Since launching the campaign on March 11, over 15,000 individual donors with an average contribution of less than $100 have put their hard-earned dollars behind Cooke’s campaign.
“The outpouring of support we have seen since launching this campaign is proof that working people are tired of being taken for granted and want new leadership in Washington that prioritizes delivering for them. While Derrick Van Orden looks out for billionaires and political insiders, I wake up everyday to fight for everyday working people,” said Cooke. “After this week’s election results, it is more clear than ever that Wisconsinites are looking for leaders willing to stand up to big money and out-of-state interests on behalf of real people. That is exactly what this campaign is about.”
This announcement comes after Judge Susan Crawford’s landslide victory in the race for Wisconsin’s Supreme Court Tuesday evening. Crawford won the Third District – which Kamala Harris lost by 7.6 points in 2024 – by roughly 7.5 points and saw historic turn-out numbers in urban centers in addition to flipping key rural counties across the district.
In 2024, Cooke significantly outperformed top-of-the-ticket Democrats, running ahead of Vice President Harris by 4.6 points, Senator Baldwin by 1.2 points, and 1.9 points ahead of President Biden’s 2020 margin in the district. Momentum continues to build behind Cooke’s campaign as she earns support from organizations, including the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers (SMART) Union, EMILYs List, Elect Democratic Women, farmers, small business owners, and working people across WI-03.
