EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, the campaign to elect Rebecca Cooke in Wisconsin’s competitive Third Congressional District announced the endorsement of fifteen Members of Congress.

Representatives Sharice Davids (D-KS), Haley Stevens (D-MI), Nikki Budzinski (D-IL), Melanie Stansbury (D-NM), Don Beyer (D-VA), Maxine Dexter (D-OR), Susie Lee (D-NV), Scott Peters (D-CA), Ted Lieu (D-CA), Linda Sanchez (D-CA), Adam Smith (D-WA), Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ), Eric Swalwell (D-CA), Johnny Olszewski (D-MD) and Lori Trahan (D-MA) joined former Congresswoman Annie Kuster in putting their support behind Cooke.

“My mom raised my brothers and me on her own while serving in the Army and later the Postal Service. Because of her, I could put myself through college while juggling multiple jobs,” said Representative Davids, former Vice Chair of the New Democrat Coalition. “We need leaders like Rebecca to join me in Congress to fight tooth and nail to make life more affordable for hardworking families. She will ensure that the people of Western Wisconsin – not out-of-touch billionaires – have their voices heard in DC. Her proven leadership and working class background make her an essential voice that’s needed in Congress.”

“Rebecca is a proven fighter for Wisconsin and exactly the voice we need in Congress at this moment,” said Representative Don Beyer, Congressional Progressive Caucus member. “Whether it’s tackling the cost of living, strengthening our unions, or protecting the environment, I look forward to working with Rebecca to deliver for our communities.”

“I’m proud to have broad support across the Democratic Caucus. From Progressives to New Democrats, Congressional leadership knows it’s more important than ever to speak with a united voice, defeat Derrick Van Orden, and get to work on behalf of Wisconsin’s working people,” said Cooke. “These Members know what it takes to win tough elections and deliver for their constituents, and I look forward to fighting for Wisconsinites alongside them in the next Congress.”

This announcement comes two weeks after it was announced that the campaign to elect Rebecca Cooke raised $1 million in the first twenty days of the campaign. Momentum continues to build behind Cooke’s campaign as she has also earned support from organizations, including the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers (SMART) Union, EMILYs List, Elect Democratic Women, farmers, small business owners, and working people across WI-03.
