Hales Corners — Local grassroots organizations have invited Representative Bryan Steil to attend an in-person Town Hall Meeting on April 24, 2025 from 6-7:30 pm at the Franklin Public Library, 9151 W. Loomis Road in Franklin. Constituents from the 1st Congressional District are encouraged to attend and share their stories. There are currently no town halls scheduled in this district according to Steil’s website.
“Recently I traveled to Washington DC to learn how it works and visit with my elected officials. As I walked the halls of the House and Senate offices, toured the Capitol building and talked with Representative Bryan Steil and Senator Tammy Baldwin, I realized how important it is that we make darn sure our voices are heard! They work for us and not the other way around.”
“Not everyone can get to Washington DC so we are organizing our own town hall meeting in the district,” she added. “After contacting Steil’s office at least 10 times in the past week with no response, it appears Steil is not planning to attend. Instead, we will share and record our stories and call his office that evening to leave a message about what he missed. As a follow up we plan to hold our own meetings all over his district.”
Organizers had asked Rep. Steil to address four topics, Budget Resolution, Due Process, Tariffs, Veterans’ Health Care. Since he does not plan to attend, there will be more time for constituent concerns.
“We own it, we are changing it,” said Bird when talking about Congress. “Let’s turn our agony into action.”
