MADISON – Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation has released its 2023 farm bill priorities. Dairy, crop insurance and conservation funding remain top priorities for farmers across the state.
WFBF’s farm bill working group has been meeting since November and produced over two dozen recommendations for legislative leaders to consider while debating the farm bill.
“Market volatility, increased input costs and supply chain disruptions have caused incredible challenges for Wisconsin farmers since enactment of the 2018 farm bill,” said WFBF President Kevin Krentz. “Despite these challenges, Wisconsin farmers continue to produce the highest quality product supporting rural communities across the state.”
The WFBF Board of Directors unanimously accepted the recommendations which WFBF members will now bring to Washington, D.C. when meeting with their Congressional representation over the next several months.
“WFBF looks forward to working with Wisconsin’s Congressional representation to bring improvements to the farm bill,” added Krentz.
The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization representing farms of different sizes, commodities and management styles.
