MADISON, Wisc. – Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) issued the following statement regarding the redistricting legislation announced today.
“We live in a world where politics are extremely divisive. Today’s legislation is an opportunity to step forward into a united future for Wisconsin. This is about neither side playing political games and no longer pitting Madison and Milwaukee against the rest of the state,” said Rep. Macco.
“I approach my work in the Legislature with a similar philosophy as I do in my businesses: the best idea wins. I do not care whether it is my idea, or their idea. This nonpartisan process is the best idea, and that is always better for the consumer, and, in this case, our constituents.”
“There are better uses of the taxpayer’s money than paying for endless lawsuits every time redistricting comes before the Legislature. This action will put partisan fighting behind us and restore faith in the legislative process so we can return to focusing on the real issues facing Wisconsinites.”
