Madison, WI – Representative Terry Katsma (R-Oostburg) released the following statement in response to the biennial budget address presented by Governor Tony Evers last night:

“Governor Evers presented a budget that increases taxes and spending, grows the size of government, and doubles down on non-fiscal policy items we have consistently rejected in his past budget proposals.

“While I had hoped that the Governor would have taken the opportunity to work alongside legislative Republicans to craft a budget that supports hard-working Wisconsinites, it is clear that he was more focused on his liberal wish list than sound fiscal management.

“I am looking forward to working with my colleagues in both the Assembly and the Senate to craft a budget that responsibly funds our priorities, returns tax dollars to the people of Wisconsin, and ensures a bright future for our state.”
