MADISON… Assembly Majority Leader Tyler August (R-Lake Geneva) released the following statement in reaction to the passage of the historic tax cut by the State Assembly:
“Now that the state’s budget is finalized, it is time we send the billions in unspent surplus back to the taxpayers where it belongs. Our tax cut would result in a significant savings of $772 for the average middle class taxpayer.
Governing by veto is not what the hard working families of Wisconsin want. Now is the time to enact real tax relief for families and seniors.
With a single stroke of Evers’ veto pen, we saw the largest tax cut in state history slashed down to a measly $3 per month. You can’t even buy one gallon of gas with that. With billions left in the till, it is time to get the money out of Madison and back to its rightful owners – the taxpayers.”
