MILWAUKEE, Wis. –Judge Janet Protasiewicz’s campaign for Wisconsin Supreme Court announced today that she has earned the endorsements of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare PAC (NCPSSM-PAC), the Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans, and Social Security Works.
“On April 4th, saving democracy is on the ballot. Democracy is dependent on judicial review that ensures free and fair elections in Wisconsin. And free and fair elections are the only way older Wisconsinites have a fighting chance to elect candidates that value the earned economic and health security they receive through Social Security And Medicare. That’s why the NCPSSM-PAC is proud to endorse Judge Janet Protasiewicz for Wisconsin Supreme Court,” said Max Richtman, President & CEO of NCPSSM-PAC. “Older Wisconsinites can depend on Judge Janet to protect their rights and uphold the law.”
“The stakes of the April 4th Wisconsin state Supreme Court election are high. On the ballot there will be a choice between the protection of our constitutional rights or political extremism. Social Security Works is honored to endorse Judge Janet Protasiewicz for Supreme Court because she has spent over three decades putting the people of Wisconsin first,” said Jon “Bowzer” Bauman, President of Social Security Works PAC. “Judge Janet is committed to protecting the rights of retired Wisconsinites and will restore integrity to the state’s highest court.”
“The Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans is proud to endorse Judge Janet Protasiewicz for Wisconsin Supreme Court to our members. For more than three decades Judge Protasiewicz has been a champion for democracy and protecting the rights of all Wisconsinites,” said Marlene Ott, President of the Wisconsin Alliance, which has more than 107,000 members in the state. “Unlike her opponent, Judge Janet shares our fundamental belief that older Americans have earned the Social Security benefits they have worked for over a lifetime.”
“I’m honored to have the support of these groups who know how important it is to uphold the law and protect the rights of Wisconsin seniors. Wisconsinites are ready for a fair and impartial court that protects their constitutional rights and that’s exactly what I’ll deliver as a Supreme Court justice” said Judge Janet Protasiewicz. “I’m proud to have earned the support of so many leaders and organizations across our state who are ready for change on the court.”
Dan Kelly has been explicit in his opposition to Social Security. In a now-deleted personal blog, Kelly wrote that Social Security recipients “are people who have chosen to retire without sufficient assets to support themselves” and compared the program to slavery.
The NCPSSM-PAC, The Alliance for Retired Americans, and Social Security Works joins over 1,000 community leaders, judges, elected officials, attorneys, and many of the state’s largest labor and citizen organizations across Wisconsin in endorsing Judge Janet Protasiewicz’s campaign.
