Milwaukee, WI – This Saturday, October 28th at 2:30pm, the Milwaukee Anti-War Committee (MAC) will be marching from Red Arrow Park and rallying at City Hall to demand the U.S. and the United Nations immediately stop troop deployment in both Haiti and Palestine, and to end all U.S. aid to Israel immediately.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has approved Kenyan troop deployment, with the U.S. financially backing the Kenyan military and exacerbating conflict instead of allowing the Haitian people to make their own demands and requests on what is needed. Meanwhile, the U.S. recently deployed 2000 troops at ‘heightened readiness’ to assist with the ongoing Israeli genocide of Palestinians. The U.S. is directly responsible for both of these conflicts. This is emphasized by the Biden administration recently requesting $100 billion in aid from Congress for funding Israel and Ukraine, and reinforcing the U.S. border wall. $10 billion of the requested aid would go to Israel, who continues to bomb Gaza, cutting off water and electricity, intentionally destroying hospitals, and committing innumerable war crimes. The U.S. is also responsible for weapon sales to both the Haitian government and the gangs it is supposedly trying to suppress, as exposed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in a 2022 investigation around firearm trafficking from Florida to Haiti. The U.S. and Israel are both liable for supplying the Armed Forces of Haiti, profiting off the conflict and further destabilizing the region to prepare for occupation.

MAC’s demands for the event are as follows:

  • Immediate end of U.S. aid to Israel!
  • Stop the troop deployment in Haiti!
  • End all U.S. intervention in Palestine and Haiti!
  • Stand in full support of Haitian and Palestinian sovereignty and legal right to self-determination per UN international law!
  • Victory to the popular Palestinian resistance!

This rally and march is part of the continued effort to show support to the Palestinian resistance and bring the struggle for full national sovereignty in both Haiti and Palestine. The growing solidarity and awareness cannot be ignored; as we have seen with over 3000 people marching in the streets of Milwaukee just last Sunday. The people of Milwaukee are speaking out, and we demand our representatives listen to us, that Rep. Gwen Moore immediately sign HR 3103, and that we will not only see a free Palestine in our lifetime, but a free Haiti as well.

The Milwaukee Anti-War Committee is a grassroots anti-war organization committed to de-militarization in Milwaukee and abroad.
