KENOSHA, Wis. — Law enforcement is speaking up for Justice Daniel Kelly.  Kenosha County Sheriff David Zoerner, Walworth County Sheriff Dave Gerber and Walworth County Undersheriff Tom Hausner joined Justice Kelly at a news conference at the Kenosha County Courthouse today to highlight Justice Kelly’s dedication to protecting the Constitution and upholding the rule of law which goes hand in hand with ensuring public safety.

“Justice Dan Kelly supports the rule of law,”  Kenosha County Sheriff Dave Zoerner said. “There is no place more evident in this country than Kenosha County, that the rule of law is paramount in public safety. We have to take care of our communities. We have to take care of our people. We have to take care of the children. I support Dan Kelly for Supreme Court Justice for the State of Wisconsin.”

Walworth County Sheriff Dave Gerber added, “When I was sworn in as Sheriff, I took an oath to support the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin and the Constitution of the United States of America. I take that oath very seriously. To protect and preserve the rights guaranteed to all of us. Dan Kelly will do the same. That is why I, along with numerous Sheriffs throughout the State of Wisconsin, have endorsed Dan Kelly for Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

Justice Kelly has received support from a majority of Wisconsin’s Sheriffs and other local law enforcement statewide, including the Milwaukee Police Association and the Fraternal Order of Police because he stands by the men and women of law enforcement by standing up for the rule of law that should not be changed at the whim of someone who would bring her soft-on-crime sentencing record to the court.

“Judicial activists like Janet Protasiewicz continue to return dangerous people to society while law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to keep their communities safe.  The men and women working in law enforcement across the state know that we must not allow the Rule of Law to be replaced by the Rule of Janet on the Supreme Court.”
