MILWAUKEE β Well-respected Milwaukee-based labor and employment attorney Sara Geenen announced today she has earned the endorsements of a dozen labor organizations in her campaign for Court of Appeals Judge in District 1.
βAt a time when many Wisconsin citizens are losing faith in the judicial system, the United Steelworkers are proud to endorse a candidate who is looking to restore fairness and integrity to the Court of Appeals,β said USW District 7 Director Michael R. Millsap. βSara Geenenβs commitment to fight for an impartial, fair, and accessible court system is key to providing stability and protection for Wisconsinβs citizens, as each and every decision handed down affects those living in the state.β
“I grew up in a blue collar, pro-labor family,β said Geenen. βMy father has been a member of the USW since he turned 18, and both of my grandfathers were union members for 50+ years. I spent time on picket lines and countless hours in union halls throughout my childhood as I watched, participated in, and learned from their activity in action.
βThe labor movement is and always has been a big part of who I am,β continued Geenen βIt shaped who Iβve become as a person, mother, wife, and attorney. This background and the working-personβs values I picked up along the way are the reason I am running for Wisconsin Court of Appeals in District 1, and I am honored to have earned so much union support.β
