Today the Blue Dog PAC announced its first endorsements of the 2024 election. The Blue Dogs are throwing their support behind Adam Frisch in Colorado’s 3rd District and Rebecca Cooke in Wisconsin’s 3rd District.

Adam is a local businessman and former city councilman who has worked for two decades to create jobs in his community. Rebecca is a 6th generation Wisconsinite raised on an Eau Claire dairy farm, milking cows and showing cattle from a young age.

These two upstart candidates are taking on two far-right extremists whose embarrassing behavior continues to grab the spotlight.

Adam Frisch, who is taking on Rep. Lauren Boebert, stunned political pundits in 2022 when he held Boebert to a 546 vote victory by simply being a normal person and running a unifying campaign, focused on common sense solutions to local issues in his district.

“Blue Dogs listen and are loyal to their districts, and they’re focused on working across the aisle on common sense solutions. That’s how I’ll get things done in Congress too — I’ll prioritize Colorado water, energy, and jobs, and make sure rural America becomes a focus again in Washington, DC, for both parties. We will defeat Lauren Boebert and start delivering real results for Colorado, not clickbait politics,” Frisch said.

In Wisconsin’s 3rd District, Rebecca Cooke is taking on Rep. Derrick Van Orden. Cooke grew up in a working class family and proudly waits tables at night to pay the bills, while running for Congress during the day.

“This moment calls for leaders who are ready to roll up their sleeves to get to work for the American people — doers who will show up and work in Congress the same way we show up and work in our communities. I applaud the Blue Dogs’ commitment to getting things done and look forward to working with the coalition to deliver commonsense, forward-looking solutions for the hardworking people of Western Wisconsin,” Cooke said.

The Blue Dogs are a coalition of House Democrats who stand for fiscal stability and national security. Blue Dogs embrace bipartisanship and work to find common sense solutions to the challenges facing our country. Blue Dogs have been at the center of the most important bipartisan policy agreements in Congress over the last 25 years.

“We are excited to endorse Adam Frisch and Becca Cooke, two candidates who are serious people committed to coming to Congress to get things done for their constituents. As Blue Dogs, we support commonsense leaders like Adam and Becca and look forward to working with them to address the challenges facing all Americans,” said Rep. Mike Thompson of California, who chairs Blue Dog PAC.

“Becca and Adam are two normal people who are America’s best shot at defeating two of the weirdest far-right extremists in Congress. They will always put their rural districts first, they will protect our democracy, and they will come to Congress ready to work across the aisle and serve the people they represent. We are thrilled to be endorsing them as Blue Dogs and prepared to do everything we can to help them win,” said Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington, who co-chairs the Blue Dog Coalition alongside Rep. Jared Golden of Maine and Rep. Mary Peltola of Alaska.

The three co-chairs represent the three most Republican-leaning districts currently represented by House Democrats. Colorado’s 3rd District and Wisconsin’s 3rd District, where Frisch and Cooke are running, are similarly rural districts with a Republican lean.
