MILWAUKEE – Today, the Democratic Party of Milwaukee County announced its endorsement of Judge Pedro Colón’s campaign for Wisconsin Court of Appeals District 1.
“I’m thrilled to announce the Democratic Party of Milwaukee County’s endorsement of Judge Pedro Colón’s campaign for the Wisconsin Court of Appeals,” said State Representative and Chair of the Democratic Party of Milwaukee County, Christine Sinicki. “Over his 25 years of service, Judge Colón’s commitment to upholding justice, deep understanding of the law, and relentless dedication to this community have been on full display. He truly embodies the values of our party and we are proud to endorse his candidacy and thankful that Governor Evers has appointed him to the court.”
Earlier this month, Judge Colón was appointed to Wisconsin Court of Appeals by Governor Tony Evers, with the appointment taking effect in November. This historic appointment will make Judge Colón the first Latino in Wisconsin history to serve on the appellate court.
Judge Colón has served on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court since being appointed by Governor Jim Doyle in 2010. He has been re-elected by Milwaukee County voters three times, in 2011, 2017, and 2023. He is currently serving as the Presiding Judge of the Civil Division. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Colón was the first Latino to be elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin’s 8th Assembly District from 1999 to 2010.
Judge Colón is running for a full six-year term on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. The election is scheduled for April 2, 2024. To learn more about Judge Colón and his campaign, visit www.pedrocolonformke.com.
