Hi folks! Welcome back to Tammy Tuesdays, our weekly update email on Tammy’s work and the big fights she’s taking on for Wisconsin families.

Tammy knows that there’s more that unites us than divides us. She understands that Wisconsin’s working families all want good-paying jobs, affordable healthcare, and the same freedoms their parents and grandparents had.

Read below for highlights of what Tammy worked on this week:

Standing Up for Made in America Manufacturing

Tammy is a champion for strong Made in America and Made in Wisconsin rules because she knows that American workers are the best in the world. And when big corporations and powerful special interest groups try to leave American workers behind, Tammy stands up to them.

This week, Tammy is taking on foreign e-commerce companies who are creating cheap, low-quality imitation products of Made in America products. Tammy is working across the aisle to pass legislation that will force e-commerce companies to disclose a product’s country of origin to buyers. That way when we’re shopping online, we know when we’re getting American made products.

Bringing Home Good Paying Jobs

Everyone knows that Wisconsin is one of the top manufacturing states in the country. And Tammy is working hard to strengthen our manufacturing industries by bringing more good paying manufacturing jobs to Wisconsin.

Following discussions with Tammy and local leaders, global renewable energy manufacturer, Ingeteam, announced that they were selecting Milwaukee for their American electric vehicle charger manufacturing operation. This opportunity is estimated to create over 100 jobs and establishes Milwaukee as a leader in the renewable energy manufacturing industry. Tammy knows that working Wisconsinites are the backbone of our state, and will always work hard to support our workers.

Solving Workforce Shortages

Right now our country is experiencing an airline pilot shortage making long delays and cancellations a too common part of travel. Tammy knows that there’s a simple solution to this problem and that’s getting more aspiring pilots to fill these jobs.

This past week, Tammy introduced bipartisan legislation that would reduce financial barriers by supporting financial aid for aspiring pilots. This legislation would address the high costs that are deterring aspiring pilots from pursuing their dreams, diversify the airline pilot field, and create a long term solution to the airline pilot shortage. Tammy is committed to finding proactive solutions to solve our workforce shortage, and will work with anyone to get the job done.

Supporting Wisconsin’s Veterans

Our veterans put their lives on the line to keep us safe and free, and Tammy believes that they deserve everything we can provide once they come home.

When Tammy heard that veterans were receiving misdiagnoses at a local VA, she promised she would stand by them in their fight to receive the high-quality care that they deserve. Tammy supported efforts to investigate the pattern of misdiagnoses at the Tomah VA and is working to ensure that each veteran that experienced a misdiagnosis has the opportunity to have their case re-examined. Tammy will always stand up for Wisconsin’s veterans and make sure that they have access to their hard-earned benefits.
