Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce is up with a new TV ad knocking Gov. Tony Evers for delays in processing unemployment claims during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ad, being run through WMC’s Issues Mobilization Council, is on broadcast TV in the Milwaukee market. The group declined to say how much it’s spending on the ad, which began earlier this week. It’s the latest spot WMC IMC has run targeting Evers in the state’s largest market.
The narrator in the latest ad says Evers “shut us down” during the pandemic, forcing thousands out of work.
“But when we needed him most, Tony Evers didn’t do his job,” the narrator says.

The narrator then says 99 percent of calls to unemployment weren’t answered and families were left struggling to pay bills.
“Tell Tony Evers we can’t afford his failures,” the narrator says.
