(Chippewa Falls)…. Senator Kathy Bernier (R-Chippewa Falls) released the following statement:
“Like ripples in still water, the horrific murder of Lily Peters has affected the entire Chippewa Falls community. My heart breaks first and foremost for Lily’s family, friends, and those who loved her. What a senseless tragedy.
“Words can provide little comfort; only time will heal this grief. However, I am encouraged by the swift arrest made by the Chippewa Falls Police Department and I hope justice is served, to the fullest extent of the law.
“Like everyone in the community I want to understand how and why this happened, but it might be a while until we have the answers that provide closure. In the meantime I will praying for Lily and her family, and thinking of them when I see her favorite color purple brightening our city. We are fortunate to live in a place so tightly-knit that we can mourn together. My family and I grieve for the loss of Lily and hope for healing in Chippewa Falls.”
