NEENAH, WI — Today, Republican candidate for Secretary of State, Jay Schroeder, announced that a recent logarithmic poll revealed his 13% lead over his main primary opponent. Schroeder attributes his lead to the number one cited issue included in the poll: which candidate can best push for free and fair elections.
Schroeder released the following statement:
“The Office of Secretary of State can’t be reformed as long as Lafollette remains in office. I have traveled these past 10 months in beautiful Wisconsin, and it is even clearer today than when I started that the election system is broken in our state.
I have attended events in 61 counties, traveled 17,000 miles, and totaled one car.
I am humbled to have been endorsed by Mike Lindell, former Justice Michael Gableman. I have signed nomination and endorsement papers from former Justice Prosser, Assemblyman Dave Murphy, and Assemblywoman Rachel Cabral-Guevara.
A logarithmic poll revealed I was the favored candidate with 54%, my primary opponent received 41%, and the other 5%. The number one cited issue was: What candidate can best push for fair and clean elections?
Our founding fathers of Wisconsin intended the Secretary of State to be in charge of elections in our state and it was that way for over 125 years.
We have had a 40 year experiment (which my opponent boasts about) of unelected bureaucrats in charge of elections that have become progressively worse with each passing year.
We went from GAB to WEC. All that was changed was three letters and the lack of respect for voters continued with each changing agency. Politicians talk of ‘Election Integrity’, and this just comes as two word talking points unless there is a plan with the procedures to create Election Integrity.
Such a plan would address the following:
1. Utilize voting machines that do not have internet access.
2. Use paper ballots with watermarks to prevent fraud and distrust.
3. Implement transparent chain of custody processes so the voter can track their ballot status on their cell phones.
To build confidence in our elections, voters must be respected for their concerns about election integrity instead of being belittled!
One example of the gross disrespect is that to this very day (as it was 10 months ago), I can still go to My Vote Wisconsin and register my Dad to vote even though he has been deceased for 7 years.
It is even so flawed that a private citizen can go online and order absentee ballots from all over the state for other people and have them mailed to his house. This outrageous oversight must be addressed.
We can Make Elections Great Again by once again showing respect for the voter, which has been lacking these last 40 years. Let’s please tackle these issues together when you cast a vote for me to serve as your next Secretary of State on August 9th.”
