Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson’s latest spot accuses Dem challenger Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes of rationalizing violence against American police officers while appearing on “Vladimir Putin’s propaganda news outlet.”
The spot plays news clips from the shooting deaths of five Dallas Police officers in 2016.

The narrator says just days after the horrific crime, Barnes went on Russian TV. The ad then plays a clip from that interview in which Barnes says, “Police officers are over exercising their badness” and “This probably was a retaliatory attack.”
The narrator concludes the spot, “Do you want Mandela Barnes representing you in the Senate?”
