Kenosha – Sen. Bob Wirch (D-Somers) issued the following statement after members of the Wisconsin National Guard completed their mission assisting with security at the Presidential Inauguration and surrounding events and locations:
“In the last twelve months, our National Guard members have been called to service in ways they never have before, and they’ve answered the call time and time again. There was a lot of trepidation about the Inauguration after the insurrection of January 6; thankfully, the events went off without a hitch. Our volunteer National Guard members once again left their jobs and families behind for the protection and safety of others, this time traveling far from home into an uncertain situation. We can’t thank them enough.”
