The Congressional Leadership Fund is out with a second TV ad hitting U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, accusing the La Crosse Dem of pay to play.
The super PAC, which supports House Republicans, has pledged to spend $2 million in the race. According to Advertising Analytics, it’s committed more than $1.4 million through Election Day. Overall, Kind and the groups backing him have spent nearly $3.7 million on broadcast, cable, radio and digital between the primary and Election Day. Republican Derrick Van Orden and those backing him have spent nearly $2.5 million.
The narrator in the new CLF spot says Kind has missed 138 votes in the last three years and taken nearly $10 million from corporate special interests. The narrator says sworn affidavits allege pay-to-play meetings with “10,000 bucks for one hour with Kind.”
The ad then plays a receptionist saying, “He’s in a meeting at the moment.”
