Middleton attorney Tim Burns filed his nomination papers Tuesday, setting up a three-way primary with Milwaukee Judge Rebecca Dallet and Sauk County Judge Michael Screnock.
The Elections Commission tallied 2,159 valid signatures for Burns, while Screnock turned in 3,539 and Dallet had 3,073.
Candidates for the court need 2,000 to qualify for the ballot.
Appeals Court judges Timothy Dugan, of the 1st District, and JoAnne Kloppenburg, of the 4th, also have turned in their signatures. Neither had drawn an opponent as of mid-afternoon.

The primary election is Feb. 20, with the general to follow on April 3.
